Welcome to 'blogging my way through India'!
It is currently 10:45 pm and I am in the Dominican Republic and extremely excited about moving to New Delhi in 11 days. So excited that I can’t stop thinking about what will I do, what will I eat, how much I am craving dosas, idlis and biryani and how amazing it would be to document all the new things that I will be learning by living there for a long period of time. This is how the idea of this blog started a few minutes ago.
To begin let me tell you a little bit about myself; I am a 29 year old girl (yes, I call myself a girl as I feel like I’m 18 instead of 29 – still with the same enthusiasm about life and learning as I had then), born and raised in the Dominican Republic, did my undergraduate studies in Florida and my masters in New York. I have worked for international organizations and have travelled a lot. I also had the opportunity to live in Mumbai for a few months in 2008 -- therefore my fascination with this country. Even though my professional background is in International Affairs, I, however, will try not to write about politics, economics and human struggles. Instead, I am hoping to share happy and fun curiosities about India each day as I experience them.
This blog will be about this new adventure and I hope you enjoy it, share it and learn a lot about this amazing country through my experiences.
